Mr. & Mrs. T

In Memory:

These were pets, NOT Thanksgiving dinner! Mr T was a people friendly guy most of the time. If he heard voices that's were you would find him. He mostly liked women, and didn't like little people. He followed me around everywhere. I lost Mr. and Mrs. T last year to some wild animal attack. I wasn't home when it happened...I found a feather trail when I got home.

This "T" came to visit us one day, I got the picture and haven't seen her since.

1-2-3 KO door wins

I'm sure glad it's Saturday. I was beginning to think I might not live through Yesterday. (Friday the 13th)
I'm still feeling the effects today. Luckily I don't have any visible bruising. It was like I was in a "Three Stooges Movie". Walking down the sidewalk and BAM....the lab door flew open (caught by the wind) and I was stopped dead in my tracks. It slammed right into my face. Ouch!! Really knocked me for a loop! Now when I screw something up I can just say it's the door's fault. LOL

Veterans Day

I drove all the way to downtown Clearwater today to take care of some business at the courthouse, and was so surprised to find an empty parking lot. duh I don't know what I was thinking when I got sent on that errand, but I had a nice drive. It rained on and off, but it's always enjoyable to be able to view Tampa Bay driving across the Courtney Campbell ? I think that's the name of it. (US 60) The rain didn't stop all the people from wading in the water and doing some fishing from shore. And there was a lot of traffic and closed off streets for the Veterans Day Festivities that were going on.
Reflecting today about one of the boys that used to come over to play basketball in our driveway. Always made himself at home...even called me "mom" along with my sons. He went to school with my oldest son, swam on the high school swim team, and joined the Marines when he graduated. He was a good kid. I see him every now and then when I look at my home movies. His name was Jeremy...here's a link to a memorial about him: Jeremy

My Dad is a Veteran. I have a picture of him in his Army uniform, but I can't find the file I saved it in.

My Uncle Don was in the Navy.

Uncle Rip was in the Navy too.

My biological Dad was a WW2 Veteran. Army I can't find a picture of him.

God Bless America! God Bless ALL the Men and Women of the Military Past and Present!!

Litter Bugs

I just don't get it...I live down this country road...most of the traffic is of people that live out here. So why do I find fast food trash, beer cans & bottles, empty cigarette packs and more...thrown out on the side of the road??? Most of these litter bugs live here and are trashing our/their community!! So here's what I'm thinking of doing. Set up a surveillance camera and find out who these few rude people are. Save up their trash and go deliver it to them by dumping it out in their driveway and yard.
Sorry about that, I had to vent.

Firsts

Well, this is a first for me. I have enjoyed reading others blogs, but never had the guts to start one myself. I don't know what has come over me! This could be interesting.

The other day I saw an alligator in a cow field. Although it's not the first alligator I've ever seen, it is the first alligator I've seen across the street from my house!

(picture taken by my neighbor Marti)
I have lived here for eight years and although there is a pond over there - way out in the cow field across the street, this is the first alligator I have ever seen here. I immediately rushed to my yard and took a head count of my critters...thankfully they were all fine. I'll talk about the critters in the future I'm sure.

Well, that's it, my first blog about my first cow field alligator on the first of November.

Happy Autumn!
