The End Of A Good Thing

The end of a truly unique shopping spot and long time business of Florida has come to a sad end. Unfortunately this is happening with many businesses, and it's just a shame. I'm going to miss the Rogers Christmas House.

It has been a part of Florida's history for some 40 odd years. With giant billboards along the interstates for countless tourists to visit as well as locals to shop for unique decorations and gifts. I found several web pages referring to the Rogers Christmas House. The one from the ST Pete Times dated May 22, 2010, kind of gives you a brief history of it and also a little bit about its demise.

I ventured out yesterday to visit Rogers Christmas House for the last time. Although their liquidation sale had been going on for a couple days, I was able to find a few items I thought I just needed to buy. Then I stood in line "forever" to check out. All of the workers there yesterday, put on the happy upbeat faces. I know they must be sad as were most of the people in line with me.

RIP Rogers Christmas House.

It's Star Wars 30th Anniversary

And one of my favorite web sites that I visit is Jib Jab dot com. They partnered up - or whatever they do - with the makers of Star Wars and have three movies available to upload your pictures into, just like the elf yourself movies.

So naturally, I had to make those.

They turned out pretty good if I do say so myself.

I used the same characters for these that I did for the elf movies. Jan, Dave, Dan, Michael - but there was only one female character, so I couldn't be in them and I needed two more men, so I used Butch and Jack (that's my Dad and one of my sisters neighbors).

These movies are so much fun to make. And they seem to be pretty popular.

I wonder if they sell stock??? I might have to check into that.

Farts.

They are stinky, embarrassing and yes funny.

I did a search on the word and you just wouldn't believe how many videos there are about farts.

Thinking And Praying

I'm just thinking about this person I know today. I'm praying for her to have the strength to deal with whatever life sends her way. She's had a lot on her plate over this past year. One is dealing with her Mom's illness. I wish the very best for her. We're not close friends...but I do care. Hang in there "E" and look to the positives.

I'm also thinking about my sister today and every day. She's one of the strongest people if not the strongest person I know. She has been battling the fight of her life over these past months, and stays so positive. She's my hero, my best friend...my sister.
